Walkthrough of the Dive Mobile Application

• Dive requires iOS 14.0 and above and Android 6.0 and above. 
  
• Dive only works on tablets that run iOS and Android.

To start using Dive, you need to accept the email invitation from your care provider. It has a link for you to use to set your password. The link takes you to a web page; once you've set your password, everything else is done in the Dive mobile application. You can't use the web link to log into your account or change your password. 

The email invitation is valid for 7 days.  If it's been longer than 7 days, contact your care provider so they can resend an invitation to you (care providers, here is how to send another invitation to your client).

Logging into Dive
You’ll need to select the server (US, Canada, or Europe) when you log in. This is based on where your care provider’s account is hosted. If you’re not sure which to choose, contact your care provider. If you try to log in to the wrong region, you’ll get the error message: email is invalid. 

   

Forgot Password?

1. Reset your password by choosing the correct server and clicking "Forgot Password"
   
2. Your care provider can also send you an email to reset your password.

Dive & EEG Device Requirements

Dive Requirements

• Dive works on devices that can run Android (6 and up) or iOS/iPadOS (14.0 and up).
  
• Dive cannot be run on ChromeOS devices or on desktop or laptop computers.
  
• If you have any third-party ad-blocking or anti-virus installed on your mobile device, please disable it or add Dive to a "safe" list; otherwise, you may experience performance issues.

EEG Device Set-Up

1. Charge your EEG device according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
   
2. Add your EEG device to Dive:
   • Instructions for BrainBit devices.
     
   • Instructions for Callibris.
     
   • Instructions for Synchroni devices.

Enabling Automatic Dive Updates

You can enable automatic updates which will ensure that Dive is kept up to date and you don't miss out on future releases:

Android devices (watch a video here)

1. Open the Google Play Store app
   
2. At the top right, tap the profile icon
   
3. Tap Settings and then Network Preferences and then Auto-update apps
   
4. Select an option:
   • Over any network to update apps using either Wi-Fi or mobile data
     
   • Over Wi-Fi only to update apps only when connected to Wi-Fi

1. Go to Settings
   
2. Tap App Store
   
3. Turn on App Updates

Difficulty control buttons for Protocols
Your care provider can give you the option to make your Session easier or more difficult. Here’s how to use it:

1. Click on the stairs icon.
   
2. Choose if you want to make your Session easier or more difficult. Each click is a 10% change. If you want to continue without making a change select Keep Current Difficulty.

1. Click on the hamburger menu in the upper left-hand corner.
   
2. Select Profile.
   
3. Click logout.

Managing notifications in Dive

You can manage when, how, and for what you receive notifications from Dive. Here's how: 

1. Click on the hamburger menu. 
   
2. Select Profile.
   
3. Select Settings.
   
4. Manage your notifications.

Instructional Video Downloads
The first time you use an EEG device Dive downloads the instructional videos for how to wear your device and how to resolve common causes of poor signal quality. Once the videos have been downloaded they'll stay in Dive unless you uninstall and reinstall the app. 

Why is it taking so long to download? 
The average time to download a 400MB file (which is larger than any video file for Dive) at 60MB per second (the average WiFi speed) is about one minute. 

The time it takes to download the files depends on your network connection and your mobile device, so the time will vary based on environmental factors outside of Divergence's control.

Feedback types in Dive
There are three possible feedback types that your care provider can use:

1. Background Mode.
   
2. YouTube videos.
   
3. Audio-only. 
   

Your care provider chooses the feedback type when they assign a Session to you.

Controlling screen brightness and volume
You can adjust the maximum brightness and volume of your feedback by tapping on the screen and using the sliders:

1. Select your Session from the home screen in Dive.
   
2. If your care provider has made videos available you'll see them on the next screen.
   
3. Click on a video. YOu can preview it in Dive by pressing the red "play" icon in the middle of the video. 
   
4. Once you've selected a video click the purple usebutton.

Controlling volume
You can adjust the maximum volume of your feedback by tapping on the screen and using the slider: 

   

Audio-only
Your care provider may have selected an MP3 track for your feedback. it will begin along with your Session.
